CANDACE CAMERON BURE

Best known for her role on ABC's "Full House"

Many of us know Candace Cameron Bure from ABCs hit television series, Full House, where we affectionately knew her as "D.J. Tanner". Still running in over 100 countries in syndication, Candace will forever be part of TV history through Nick At Nite and AVC Family network lineups.

With an acting career that started at the age of five, Candace appeared in commercials, prime-time hits, and critically acclaimed television movies, working with actors such as Sally Field and Tom Hanks.

While living a dream life in Hollywood and being on a top rated television show, Candace often thought about God. "During my teenage years I had a lot of fans that admired and looked up to me and I was considered a good role model. When I stood back and looked at myself I thought, "You know I’m a very good person." When I did something my conscience told me was wrong, I just asked God to forgive me. I thought He had to do that because I asked him into my heart. So, I continued living my life in a repeating cycle of sin, then asking God to excuse it. I was a false convert. After coming to understand Biblical repentance, I became a true convert. God had transformed the way I think and live my life."

After Candace married NHL star Valeri Bure, she put her career on ice for a while in order to stay home and raise a full house of her own. Happily married for over 12 years, this mother of three is loving her new role—one she wouldn’t trade for the world. Devoted to her husband and children, she is a role model to young women everywhere. Her passions include family, faith, evangelism and a good game of tennis.

The heart that Candace has for people is reflected in her everyday life as well as through her involvement in charities such as The Childrens Hunger Fund, Compassion Internation, Sheridan House Ministries as well as the Make a Wish Foundation and Starlight Foundation. With charisma that lights up a room, Candace shines light on hope, and reminds us that there still are entertainers in Hollywood who are willing to put their faith on the front line.

She is a speaker for various churches, colleges and outreach events, as well as a monthly columnist for Christian Women Online Magazine, with an advice column entitled “Candid Candace.” In her newest season of life, Candace is back in front of the camera having most recently starred in the made for television Hallmark Original movie, “Moonlight & Mistletoe” which rated as the #3 all time most viewed original release for the Hallmark Network. She also appeared in an episode of Disney’s “That’s So Raven,” starred opposite Randy Travis in the Outreach Cinema film “The Wager” and has fulfilled the duties as guest host on ABC’s top rated, daytime hit show “The View.”. Candace is also in the process of putting the finishing touches on her first book entitled “Candid Candace: my journey through weight loss to freedom.”
